Abuelita

In Spanish, great-grandmother is bisabuela. I had to look that up, because Daddy said that you say "abuela-abuela" and I just did not buy that. Daddy's grandmother has always been Abuelita to me. So when she came to stay with Grandma and Grandpa, she was Abuelita to Gracie and Lukie, too.

Abuelita is getting older and isn't quite as spry as she used to be. She has very little patience when she wants something and has been having to share Grandpa's attention with the Twinsies. The good news is that Gracie, Lukie, and Abuelita have formed a happy relationship. They really enjoy one another's company. Abuelita is patient with them (yay!) and likes to spend time with them.

The other day, Abuelita was getting ready for bed and was sitting on her bed waiting for a phone call. Gracie discovered her in the bedroom and decided that she did not like Abuelita being by herself. She brought Abuelita her cane and "helped" her into the diningroom.

We are so glad that Abuelita came to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. Seeing her happy and loving face makes every day special.
